About Bigiano

Oluwagbemiga (God lift me up) Babalola, known professionally as Bigiano is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer. Born in the City of Ibadan Oyo State Nigeria. Bigiano is the fourth-born child from a family of six. His family’s Christian background helped shape his music orientations - he started in the church as a choir master and music co-ordinator. Bigiano left the church in 1999 to pursue his musical career and he officially joined a group called Triple B. He started his career with Triple B and has picked up two awards - best video of the year and viewers’ choice award - at the Sound City Musical Video Awards in Nigeria to cap his efforts. They released an official single in 1999 called "Egba Mi". Bigiano officially released his first album called “Shayo Master” in 2008, which was a huge success and a Mega Hit across Africa. He shot his first official music video in Johannesburg in 2009. The song has made him a superstar and an A-list artist in Nigeria. The success of his album earned him the stage name “Shayo Master” and he has been described as one of a few African artistes with remarkable vocal skills. In 2010 he was nominated for MTV Base Award, Best Music Video of The Year and Best Artist of The Year respectively . In the same year he won Best Artist of the Year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards held in the United States. He was signed to a management company in London, Starmix, in 2011, where he recorded many songs and wrote a few songs for numerous upcoming artists. His song ‘Iwofa’ has been described by bloggers as 'deep and most enjoyable' on the album. Another is the irresistible ‘Won Serawon’ and his choruses are charming and simply hot attention-getters. The successes of ‘Iwofa’, ‘Won Serawon’ and ‘One and Only’ blew his fans minds and drew his huge accolades from pundits. He was in London to record couple of songs with different producers and has had several tours in UK, Europe, Malaysia and all over Nigeria. Bigiano has worked with many artists in Nigeria and South Africa, ranging from top A-list artists top young up-and-coming artists. The songwriter has written a number of singles for popular artists including the Hook on the song ‘Dami Duro’, which he wrote for Davido. The single burst Davido into the limelight. He also Co- wrote ‘Tony Montana’ for Naeto C and has done many assistant productions in the studio with Super producer Shizzi. He has collaborated also with Multi selling Nigerian superstar Wizkid as well as number of South African artists. In 2013 Bigiano moved back to Nigeria and in 2014 relocated to South Africa to re-brand himself. He formed his own record label, BG Records, in partnership with Aster Mackins Entertainment. Bigiano sees the likes of Ebenezer Obey, Fela Anikulapo, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, R. Kelly, Michael Jackson as his mentors and role models. He has been inspired by much of their music and lyrical contents. He enjoys traveling, skydiving, driving and reading books.
