About Tjan

Sterling musical act Tjan, born February 21st 1992 into a family of four (with two elder brothers and a younger sister) has within a short period of emergence in the music scene carved an envious niche for himself with a growing array of fans and soulful songs that keep both the young and old ever gyrating. Growing up in a family that loves music, the young budding talent developed an unflinching love for poetry; a trait he got from his poetic father and listening to gospel music icons like Ron Kenoly, Alvin Slaughter, Don Moen to mention a few. He had always wanted to sound different from everybody which led him into carving his own style called Soul Afro Pop with influences from his dad and elder brother who is a rapper. The soft-spoken act started writing his own songs when he was in SSS 1 at the age of 14 and recorded his first song at the age of 17 titled 'What You Like' but didn't promote it due to some circumstances. He later enrolled at the Muson School of Music where he studied music and vocal training; while he was at it he got admission into North American University Houdegbe, Benin Republic. He emerged as Airtel Best Artist while he was in the NYSC CAMP. On 15th May 2016, the multitalented and velvet-voice laced act Tjan released a song which has gone on to become one of the most played song in the country. He teamed up with the award winning Sony Music produced Cobhams Asuquo and ace songwriter Omolara to pen down the lyrics of the decade in the song titled Aduke. The song went on to break records by topping music charts across the African continent and Europe spreading love and musical bliss among music fans and pundits. It also blessed television screens with a masterpiece visual directed by the highly talented music video director Kemi Adetiba and thus began a relay of chart topping spree for Tjan. The song also got endorsed by legendary DJ Jimmy Jatt among his top 3 wedding songs of the year alongside Timi Dakolo’s, "The Vow" and Adekunle Gold's "Orente".
