Drey Beatz, whose real name is Daniel Grey Leonge was born on July 27th in Delta State, Nigeria. Born in the oil city of Warri, Drey is the only son of the legendary southern musician, Emma Grey. Drey Beatz grew up listening to music by his father, Fela Kuti, Sir Victor Uwaifo, Chief Osita Osadebe, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Rodney Jerkins, Timothy Mosley and Kasseem Dean. After years of honing different musical skills – singing, writing, playing different musical instruments, and singing – Drey officially kicked off his production outfit, which he called Drey Beatz. The maturity & diversity of his production style has over the years been the 'USP' of the brand.Coming from such an influential music background, the 23-year old music genius is set to extend his works beyond just production and in May 2014, he joined OHK Entertainment label to further achieve this. Drey Beatz produced the first offering from the label, titled “OBI” with vocals from Skales. The first single off his producer-album, ‘Umm Ahh’ is a massive collaboration with one Africa’s biggest MCs, Ice Prince. The album is set for release in 2015, with many more collaborations with Africa’s finest musicians.
